Entrepreneurs Beware!

A new study shows that more and more millennia's are requesting courses and degrees in entrepreneurship but the powers to be aren't listening. It seems the Millennials are more interested in being entrepreneurs, as much as the baby boomers (parents of the millennia's) wanted to be Astronauts. I'm shocked by the notion that a large group millennialist are focused on being entrepreneurs or maybe not I'm not?

1975 there were 100 formal entrepreneur programs: major, minor or certificate at colleges and universities in US.

2006: 500 formal entrepreneur programs
1985: 250 entrepreneur courses in the US

2006: 500 entrepreneur courses

In any case it is clear that the demand for entrepreneur programs is on the rise and education isn't following suit. When reading this article I couldn't make the connection as to why the millennialist are so interested in entrepreneurship. One millennial suggested it could be the increase in college tuition fees, wanting a comfortable life (not living paycheck to paycheck), or the current dismal job prospects? The writer suggest these are all contributions to the drive towards entrepreneurship, could be but I'm not sure. America is a country of such diversity we need all kinds of minds to continue to enhance our economic wealth. I say to our current and future entrepreneurs go for it regardless of the outcome being entrepreneur will toughen you up at the least (it's almost killed me ;) but do be warned being an entrepreneur it's for the faint of heart!!
